Our History |
Did you know Lake Lure Village Resort was the home to three youth camps prior to the general partners purchasing the property in 1974?
From about 1951 to 1960, the property was home to the Chimney Rock Camp for Girls. In about 1961, the property was sold to Victor Levine who opened Camp Deerfield, a summer camp for boys and girls. He passed away early 1971, and the property was sold to Dr. Sorkey who opened a camp for mentally challenged boys. In 1974, the property was purchased by our founding partners and became Lake Lure Village Resort.
